Inscribed by Gillingham to John Frederick Lewis [1860-1932], the Philadelphia lawyer, collector, author, historian and philanthropist, whoserved as President of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, as a trustee of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, and authored several books on Pennsylvania history.
