Noted silver historian E. Alfred Jones does his usual scholarly job cataloging the Royal Plate in the Tower, which included the late 12th century Coronation Anointing Spoon, a 16th century standing salt, and from the 17th century a massive font, wine fountain, many standing salts, tankards, dishes, a flagon, alms dish, and four pairs of maces.

Hardcover. 9"x11", xxxv + 79 pages, plus 22 black & white photogravure plates with tissue guards. There are also 6 line illustrations in the text. Bound in red smooth and pebbled cloth with gilt spine title, as issued. Covers with light soil, former owner's name neatly penned on the endpaper, but otherwise in fine, clean condition.
