Benjamin, Susan. English Enamel Boxes, from the Eighteenth to the Twentieth Centuries. New York The Viking Press: 1978. Although popularly known as "Battersea" boxes, these were also produced in other workshops in London, Birmingham, Bilston, Wednesbury and Liverpool. Benjamin examines these boxes and their makers, and offers help with the often difficult process of attributions.
